Sub – Registration for Prime Minister Shield Competition  2014 -15

Madam / Sir,

            Please find attached a Specimen copy of Registration form for Prime Minister Shield Competition – 2014 for circulation among all the KVs under your jurisdiction.

Registration for PM Shield competition is compulsory for the following programmes –

                                                                                                  

Rashtrapati Award Testing Camp (for Scout/Guide)

HWB, Pre-ALT, ALT  Courses (for Scout Master & Guide Captain)

Period	-     The competition will cover the period from 1st July every Year to 30thJune of the succeeding Year.
Methodology	- The competition will be held in four subjects and is open to all Scout Troops/Guide Companies. -  Competition will be held separately for the Scout and Guide wings. -  Scout Troops & Guide Companies will participate in two subjects: Subject 1 will be Compulsory for all & they may select one more subject  i.e No. II, III or No. IV.
Eligibility	-        Minimum of Two Competing Districts. -        A competing District is one, which registers at least Two units.

Log Books	-           To be maintained by competing units. The Log Books should be preferably 15” X 12” in size.
Judging	-           Division / District recommends best unit in each group to State. State recommends one best among each group of Subjects to NHQ, BS&G.
Award	-           In each State the Scout Troop, Guide Company standing First and gaining 70% and above marks will be awarded Prime Minister Shield and a Certificate signed by the Prime Minister. -           The Scouters/Guiders of the Shield Winning Units will also be awarded Certificate. -           Each member of the Shield winning unit would individually get a Certificate signed by the National Commissioner. -           All Participating Units which gain more than 50% Marks in the group of Subjects will be awarded a Certificate of Merit signed by the Prime Minister.
Project Area	-           The Area of work for each unit will be selected by respective units and approved by the District Commissioner. It shall not be less than 30 families and not more than 50 families. There shall be no duplication of area among different units.

It is therefore, requested that all units must be registered for the P.M. Shield’s Competition and work for it.

Duly filled forms (Separately for Scouts Troop/ Guide Company) along with consolidated registration fee @ Rs 10/- (ten only) per unit (form) shall be paid from the Divisional Association fund. The DD should be issued in favour of – “The Director, Bharat Scouts and Guides, National Head Quarters”payable at New Delhi .

PM shield registration forms along with D.D may be sent to this office latest by 30.04.2014 for further course of action at this end in the following table.

Late submissions will not be entertained in any case.

Note:-

1.The P.M. Shield’s Competition will be held separately for Scout & Guide Section of the movement.

It will be held in four subjects. The Scout troop/Guide Company will participate in two subjects.

2.Subject No.1 will be compulsory for all and they may select one more subject i.e. No. II or  No.III

 or No. IV.

3.The No. of minimum members in a scout troop/Guide company should not be less than 16 Scouts/Guides.

4.The No. of maximum members in a scout troop/Guide company should not be more than 32 Scouts/ Guides.

Common mistakes found in earlier P.M.Shield’s registration form are as under,which may be thoroughly checked while sending the registration form to this office:-

1.Name of the Divisional Association (i.e. region) is not mentioned at S. No.2(a)

2.Scout Troop/Guide Company name and address is not mentioned at S.No. 3.

3.Name of the Scouter/Guider in charge is not mentioned clearly/ or more than one names are mentioned at SI. No4.

4.Chosen subject’s I/II/III/IV for competition are not tick marked at S.No.6.

5.Details of Demand Draft are not mentioned at S. No.7.

6.Registration form is not signed by Scouter/Guider.

7.Registration Form has been used correction fluid.

 8. Units are not having charter no and Scout Masters/Guide Captain has not valid Warrant number.
